Yoga therapy integrates movement, breathwork, and mindfulness to support your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Unlike traditional yoga classes—whether group or private—yoga therapy offers a highly individualized approach. Through personalized assessments, we address your specific wellness concerns and craft a practice that meets you where you are.
By treating the whole person—mind, body, and emotions—yoga therapy provides a holistic path to healing and balance.
Because yoga therapy focuses on the whole person—mind, body, and emotions—it offers a wide range of benefits, including:
Yoga therapy also serves as a supportive tool for managing conditions such as anxiety, depression, or chronic illnesses. It complements traditional Western medical approaches, offering a holistic path to wellness.
For those adapting to specific health challenges, group yoga therapy (where available) can provide a sense of community and mutual support in a safe, understanding environment.
We’re currently seeking individuals interested in personalized yoga therapy for the following areas:
We are committed to being a resource for our community. If you think yoga therapy might benefit your specific needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re happy to discuss additional areas of support to meet your unique wellness goals.
Our yoga therapy process is designed to meet you where you are and guide you toward your wellness goals. It involves three key steps: initial assessment, customized practice, and ongoing support.
The journey begins with an in-depth assessment to understand your unique goals and needs. During this session, we evaluate:
This assessment is tailored to your abilities, including modifications for individuals with limited mobility or range of motion.
Based on your assessment, we design a personalized yoga therapy plan, typically lasting 4-8 weeks. Your plan may include:
The ultimate goal is to empower you with the tools to support your own wellness. While additional sessions are available for those who need more guidance, the focus is on integrating the practice into your daily life.
At the end of your yoga therapy program, we conduct a final assessment to measure improvements in your physical and emotional state. From there, some clients choose to transition into traditional yoga classes to continue their journey.
Heather has believed in the ability of yoga to transform lives from her first class at a Aiki Jiu Jitsu Dojo in Boston on September 11th, 2001. Even in the midst of overwhelming tragedy yoga provided her solace, providing mental space to process the loss and physical peace from the rigors of martial arts training. That first class also sparked a desire to practice yoga, which she continued to pursue long after her martial arts career ended. Yoga has provided a framework for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual change that has allowed her to grow and change over the years, and to meet life on life’s terms. She believes strongly that yoga meets you where you are at, as long as you are willing to bring your life to the mat on good and bad days. Teaching yoga is a source of immense joy for Heather. She has been blessed with tremendous students, and feels privileged to be a part of her students’ own transformations. She is an experienced registered 200-hour yoga teacher and a registered 500-hour yoga teacher with over 1,500 hours of teaching experience. She has a 140-hour specialty certification on trauma sensitivity, and is currently a student in a certified yoga therapy program.
